Sarah is the music teacher at Broomfield Academy. The kids call her "Miss K." She received her bachelor's degree in Music Education from Coe College in Iowa and is working to complete her master's degree in music at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music. She plays trumpet professionally and has performed with symphony orchestras, brass quintets and jazz ensembles in the Denver area and elsewhere. She also teaches private trumpet, piano, voice, recorder, Music History, Music Theory and Music and Movement lessons to children of all ages. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association as well as the Music Educators National Conference. Miss K enjoys traveling, dancing and watching Denver Nuggets basketball. She especially loves directing the Broomfield Academy winter and spring school musicals and teaching students songs and dances from around the world. Miss K. also enjoys Brazilian and Hindustani music and started the Broomfield Academy Capoeira program.
