The Broomfield Academy Summer Enrichment Camp will begin on Thursday, June 3, 2010 and will run through Tuesday, August 10, 2010. The summer program provides an exciting, safe and educational environment in a relaxed setting to promote learning throughout the summer. The Broomfield Academy summer program includes a Jr. Kindergarten (for children ages 3-4), an elementary preparatory program (for children ages 5-7) as well as a summer camp program (for children ages 5-12), with a full offering of activities, learning and fun. Camp will be held Monday – Friday, from 7 AM to 6 PM, with the exception of July 5, 2010. Families can elect to attend from 1-5 days per week, for the entire summer or for just the weeks they desire. The Broomfield Academy Summer Camp is open to all area children, regardless of which elementary school they attend in the fall and spring. Students in the Summer Enrichment Camp will enjoy four two-week sessions focused on fun and educational arts- and science-related topics. The sessions are Music/Drama Camp, STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Camp, Visual Arts Camp and Adventures in Literacy Camp. On alternating Fridays, students will present a special culminating project or event focusing on the session’s theme.
Electives include Rocketry, Storyteller’s Theatre, Photography, Painting, Soccer, Volleyball, Challenge Your Mind, Chess for Kids, Creative Writing, Drawing, Cooking, Memory Makers, World Art, Tumbling, The Science of Star Wars and Broadway Musicals. There will also be daily time devoted to arts and crafts, free time, and caring for the
garden. There will be reading time, science, history, computer time, free play and recess each day. Students will also enjoy field trips to places such as The Broomfield Bay, Chippers bowling lanes, Pump It Up and Jungle Quest. Two classes per child are included, at no additional cost, with a minimum 4-week summer camp enrollment. Additional classes may be added for an additional fee.
